What did Insurtech Connect in Miami leave us with?

A few weeks ago I participated in the Insurtech Connect in Miami, and I am still collecting everything I experienced, the new contacts I generated and the opportunities that arose from having participated in the largest insurtech event in the world.

He ITC Connect It takes place every year in Las Vegas, but this year it came to Miami for the first time to focus on the growing Latin American market.

As Country Manager of Simpletech for Central America and the Caribbean and with the support of a great team from Uruguay, I was present with WittySuite, our interaction management suite that generated great interest among everyone who came to our stand.

The place

The event took place at the iconic Hotel Fontainebleau Miami Beach, where the main players in the insurance sector in Latin America and the United States met for 3 days.

Networking

The many spaces at the Fontainebleau Hotel served as a networking venue for a wide range of people from the insurance world.

The cocktail bar and the cafeteria were the favourites, but there were also "meeting zones”, where I had the opportunity to participate in meetings and network with companies in the region, including some of the most interesting insurtech companies of the moment.

The event had an APP that allowed you to schedule the people you interacted with during the networking days, as well as coordinate calls and meetings within the venue, which optimized time and allowed you to make the most of the new connections.

Lots of contacts, lots of conversations, lots of information to process!

Jon Cederquist, Strategic Accounts Director at Clearspeed and Juan Fernando Serrano, CEO of Latino Insurance.

The speakers

The main stage was attended by several key figures who touched on some of the issues that are setting the agenda in the sector.

I highlight the talk of Caribou horn, an industry expert, who spoke about current trends and predictions for the sector, with a disruptive view of the business, in which he talked about the incorporation of machine learning and artificial intelligence tools to increase accessibility and profitability.

Simpletech at ITC

Our goal at Simpletech has always been to apply innovation and the latest advancements in technology to improve people’s experience, and this event allowed us to make connections with companies that share a mutual interest in benefiting their customers.

On this occasion we were presenting our solutions for insurance companies, which allows them to offer innovative and satisfactory experiences for their clients such as:

  • Reporting incidents via WhatsApp: Reduces the time required to report incidents by doing so autonomously via WhatsApp. See our client's case Saint Christopher, which reduced the time for reporting accidents from 40 to 8 minutes.
  • Self-inspection of goods via WhatsApp: The person, autonomously and guided by the insurance company's bot, can self-inspect their insured property. See example of LBC Insurance
  • Process automation and systems integration: Our platform can be integrated into your business systems, increasing the efficiency and productivity of organizations by automating tasks and creating a seamless connection between different systems and applications.
  • Voice biometric authentication: Users can use their voice as a password for their services, and thus easily and securely access personal information, documents, procedures, make payments and more, without leaving the channel. Simpletech was the first in the world to implement this technology in WhatsApp.

The ITC concluded with a closing meeting in the evening, in the Havana Night, to meet again in a more relaxed atmosphere and continue to deepen the ties created at the event.

I am very grateful to everyone who came to our booth and took the time to chat, share ideas and explore new opportunities.

This experience was undoubtedly very enriching both for me on a personal level and for Simpletech as a company, proving that our solutions are on par with the best solutions in the world.
